The Lourdes Garden
The above picture is of the Lourdes Garden which is at the side of St. Joseph's Church. Its grotto of Our Lady and St. Bernadette, its plants, shrubs and walkway, make the garden a peaceful setting for quiet prayer or conversation, and even a picnic.
The original grotto was built many years ago with rocks taken from the excavations to build the then new ring-road (A47-A563 link).

The statue of Our Lady was presented to the garden by the Murray family in memory of their daughter and was carefully restored in 2002 in time for the opening of the present garden.
Many plants and shrubs in the Garden have been donated and dedicated in memory of loved ones.

Through 2001 the garden was re-worked and landscaped, people bought and dedicated plants, donated garden furniture and we had our official opening in May of 2002.
Today the garden is opened regularly during the week and people visit to pray, light a candle at the grotto or simply just sit quietly.
This page will be updated with pictures as the seasons pass.
